    My mom took a student loan for me and they want to garnish her wages can they?
    My mom took out a student loan for me to go to college. I defaulted on the loan and have not paid it. I am trying to make payment arrages but they told me that unless I pay 3,000.00 they are going to start garnishing her wages can they do that?

    Yes, if she signed for the loan, and she lives in a state that allows garnishment,

    She took out the loan and signed the paperwork so she is responsible for this loan, not you.

    Yes. They can. And they will.

    You need to take responsibility for this and make arrangements to pay it. Your mother did this to help you, are you going to let her take the fall?
