How can I tell when I'm ovulating
I'm a week away from trying to conceive my second child and was just wondering how can I tell when I'm ovulating without having to buy expensive tests...
A couple of months ago I had a miscarriage but I didn't no I was even pregnant and I'm also worried that its going to happen again... I have a nearlly 10 month old baby boy who is getting lonely who needs someone to play with all the time instead of me I have a lot of things to do everyday that's impossible to get done because he wants me to play alday so that's one reason why we are having another so close but we also really want another baby we didn't realise until I had a miscarriage anyway any advice...

Well, I am not a doctor but I believe that you are your most fertile the week before your period. Someone check me on that.

It depends on your cycle. If you have a regular 28 day cycle, you should ovulate somewhere between 12 - 16 days after the first day of your last period.

Now, I think having children very close together is wonderful, they tend to grow up so close.

HOWEVER, I believe your reasons for wanting a baby right now are rather silly.

A new baby won't make things easier for you, just harder. Your new baby won't be able to play with the 10 month old for at LEAST 6 months, actually more than that.

You see, your baby is 10 months old now, should you get pregnant today your baby will be 19 months old at the birth... then add a minimum of 6 months before little one is even thinking about crawling and you have your son who is over 2 years old, playing with different toys and is much rougher than a 6 month old.

What you need to do is to teach your son how to play by himself now. He needs to begin to learn that little bit of independence.

Again, having children so close together is fantastic, but it actually doubles your work, it does NOT make it easier. I speak from experience. My 2 oldest were 18 months apart.

Well thank you for informing me that its harder with two but I no that and that's not the only reason I'm trying to have another baby it's the fact that me and my partner are ready for another bundle and we can't wait yes we do want them to be close like my partner and his brother they are only 13 months apart and they get along with each other really well and it will be something new for my little boy it will be hard but also fantastic...

Determining your ovulation can be tricky business, even with those expensive tests. Read the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It will teach you about cervical fluids, tempratures and other factors that will give you information on your cycle.
