    Wedding Decorations?
I need some help coming up with a good theme for my wedding decorations. I am getting married in August, probably outdoors and we are having a bbq for the reception. However, the dress code is still going to be at least semi-formal. I cannot stand the idea of doing the whole pink, purple, teal color scheme. My bridesmaids are wearing chocolate colored gowns and the reception is being held in a ski lodge. I would be super grateful for any ideas. :D

    First great with the wedding.

Well you want it at least semi formal so some of my previous wedding idea will not work with that but some things we did out doors have been

Hawaii theme wedding pool side my favorite of all time, grass skirts, and all.

Flower garden theme ( my hay fever is still remembering that)

    Wedding at the golf club

    Farm theme

Hillbilly ( or country western) theme

    Putt Putt golf wedding

    Various TV show theme weddings

I would say look at what type of things you like, what does he like, and go with something FUN

I don't know what to suggest for decorations, but there is a good online color scheme generator that I often use for artwork:

    http://wellstyled.com/tools/colorscheme2/index-en.html

You could input the color of your bridesmaids dresses and then see what colors compliment chocolate. :)

Oh and sorry I haven't responded about the dress pattern yet... haven't found anything good!

    Hi Mrs. Pennell.
I too am having chocolate colored dresses and I think white gerbera daisies would be nice accents for things. Light fabrics with chocolate sheer fabrics swagged over them would look nice as well.
I am actually going with a chocolate and champagne theme for the entire wedding. Champagne colored fabrics or decorations would compliment it nicely without being too in your face with color if that isn't what you want.
Let me know what you decide because I am still looking for some ideas to go with mine.
Congrats on the wedding! Enjoy coming up with ideas!!

Hello! Could use some advice... we live in a rural area where it seems to be custom to asking neighbors (invited as guests) to help clean up the bride/groom's table, doing dishes, setting out food on buffet arranged tables, etc. My husband and I always argue every time I get one of these invites...
