Whirlpool Washing Machine -is it worth fixing?
I have a Whirlpool Model #LA5668XTW1 that is dripping water from the top of the machine and I do not remember how old the machine is. Is it worth fixing ($69 service call plus parts and labor) or should I just buy a new one. I want to say the machine could be 30 years old but am not sure. Thanks

A repairman I spoke with told me that the newer machines of today are built to go tits up in a short period. If you want to take a chance and repair your older machine since it has been good and not caused many problems, then keep it and get it repaired and when the repair guy is there ask him if he sees anything else wrong with the machine that needs fixed, i.e. belts changed as they are frayed and do it then. It all depends on you and your wallet now. If it has been good, then I'd say keep it until it has the motor burn out before replacing the machine.

My Whirlpool Washing Machine won't agitate or spin. It does pump the water out. I'm not sure how to go about finding what's wrong.
