You have the moral and legal right to know and be a part of this child's life.
Make an appointment with child services, request a DNA test, which in most situations is done with a swab run along the inside of the infant's mouth.. Once you are confirmed as dad, the state will take care of everything else.
That's the way it worked out for son and granddaughter. A little different circumstances but the net result being he dad! Oddly enough, it was mom who kept refusing the DNA testing, but still claimed my son as dad.
We, my wife and I, didn't really care because the child already owned me after her first wink! 3 years later, the Commonwealth finally figured that our son was more than willing to come up for the test. He was living in Florida and mom and our grand-baby had moved in with us. 12 years ago she became legally our granddaughter, but as I say, to late!!
