    Juvenile record
Does a juvenile record in Oregon follow you into adult hood? When age 16 I stole my grandmothers car and succeeded to wreck it totally. I did not have a driver license. Grandmother reported the car stolen. Now at age 32, Oregon will not issue me a driver license because I stole the car and totalled it at age 16. How can this be as I never did have a license in Oregon, and do not understand why they refuse to license me.

Sounds like you need to ask a lot more questions at the license agency. It might be a matter of showing proof of your age at the time of the incident. You might need to have legal help in getting it cleared up. Find out if the juvenile record should also have been erased from license record at adulthood... you also may have had your license privilege suspended at the time even though you never had a license, you would have to pay the reinstatement fee as described at the link below. I hope this is helpful.

Oregon DMV Reinstating Your Driving Privileges

Q: How do I reinstate a driving privilege?
A: To reinstate a driving privilege that has been revoked or suspended, all legal obligations must be fulfilled and a reinstatement fee must be paid to DMV. A reinstatement may be denied if the driver has a current suspension or revocation in another state.

Q: Oregon DMV shows I have a suspended license. I have never applied for or been issued an Oregon license. I have a valid license from another state, what should I do?
A: Call DMV's Customer Assistance Unit at (503) 945-5400 and we will check to see why you have been suspended. You don't have to have been issued an Oregon license for Oregon to suspend your driving privileges. The most common reason for suspension of non-residents is one or more unpaid tickets or an accident that was not reported. You will still need to meet all Oregon requirements including a $75 reinstatement fee to clear the problem.

Q: How do I request a clearance letter?
A: Call DMV at (503) 945-5400, write, or complete an online question form to request a letter.
