I am a business owner, who does consulting engineering work. I was hired to do a job over the summer, and I have fulfilled my responsibilities. I have been paid about 2/3 of the total invoice. I have been waiting almost 120 days and I have been told outright to forget getting paid. I want to know how I can put a lien on the construction site where the work was performed. I am a Candian citizen and live in a city named Kitchener and I am in the province of Ontario. I really would like to get paid, and all my efforts to try and collect have so far failed. What are my options and what can I do to collect. I want to put a lien on the property, can I do that and if I can how do I do it.

You are basically one business not getting paid by another buisenss.
So you sue them in court first.
