My mother born in India in 1947. But my grand father born in Pondicherry (French Colony). He died in 1955 and not registered for French nationality. Hi not every one born in Pondicherr become french citizen.French nationality law create in two
Formalities, one is immatriculation, that is should be done while your father or grand father alive, the second by birth and marriage that means, either your father or mother should have born in union territory of india before 1963 and one of your parent should born in the french territory and the marriage should be held in the french territory and your birth should be registered in the union territory.these are the common rules to acquire french nationality.

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply. But the french consitutions says the following. This is only to my knowledge. I am not aware of the exact law.

A boy/girl should born in India (British Colony) before 1963.
    • His/her father must born in French colony, married in French colony and father died before 1963.

    • Since the applicant is minor, he/she is eligible for the French citizen

Please suggest me that the above assumption is correct or else could you please mention any of the website for finding all the French laws for acquiring french citizen:) :)

    Thanks in advance!!!
