    English Bulldog crate training
I have a 3 month old English Bulldog and Im in the process of crate training her. She is a very good puppy but still eliminates in her crate at night and during the day when we are gone to work. We have a towel in the bottom so she won't be cold at night and I think this may be part of the cause.

She also has this problem of eliminating as soon as I open the door when I get home. I can't even open the door really quick, get her and take her out before she eliminates.
We have set up a routine for her and have been sticking to it. We get up during the night to take her out, I come home once in the morning to take her out during the day and my girlfriend also comes home in the afternoon to take her out before we both get home from work. All of this and she still eliminates in her crate. Am I expecting too much from her at such a young age?

I was thinking about taking the towel out of her crate because I was thinking that when she does eliminate on the towel she can't feel it so she doesn't know it's there. Do you think that will help? I did try once to take the towel out and see how she would do and she seem to do better until I would get home from work and open the door. As soon as she see's us open the door she eliminates in her crate! Then I have to wash her up since she is so excited and steps and sits in her mess. And lets not confuse this with the infamous "Happy Pee", because when she is out playing in the house she doesn't do it at all. Even when we have people over to see her she does fine!

I don't know what else to do! Any help would be great!

I would definitely take the towel out. She can probably still smell it in the towel even if you wash it, so she keeps peeing on it. The rule of thumb for puppies is that they can only wait 1 hour plus their age, so in her case a maximum of 4 hours. If it is longer than that, it could just be that she can't hold it any longer too.
