All I can say after that is... wow. WOW.

I was a huge McCain supporter before. I snickered along with him every time he laughed at Paul. I took him as a joke. I never gave him a chance. On the Democratic side, I loved Obama. These were my guys.

Tonight, my eyes have been opened. I was watching Jay Leno before I went to bed like I always do, because headlines on Monday are so funny! And he had on Ron Paul for his first guess, so I just had to watch. Ron Paul actually gave incredible answers. He was so poised and ready. He stuck to his guns yet again. But this time, nobody was there to make fun of him, so I actually had to pay attention to what he said.

And you know what? He's right! I've been blind this whole time. All along I wasn't counting Paul as a real candidate, just going along with the flow that everyone else was saying, calling his supporters "nuts" like everyone else. They aren't nuts. They are enlightened! They support believe in him so much, that they are energized and refreshed! They believe in the message so deeply, that they are passionate about their candidate.

NOW I UNDERSTAND!

I can't believe how blind I was. I cannot believe it. I was blind this entire time, and tonight I have opened my eyes. I actually have the feeling that America has a chance. Before I was numb, but my body actually is alive. I can't sleep! I really do have this feeling that something special is before us. Ron Paul is for real!

I encourage all you other Ron Paul doubters or haters out there, such as myself, to just open your eyes and ears to this man, and stop letting other people judge candidates for you. I did just that, and it cost me many days of actually being able to listen to this guy for myself. I cannot describe to you the feeling I have right now, all through my body, about how he makes me feel. For the first time in my life, I feel hope!

There is no way I can describe how I feel right now. I want to apologize to every single Ron Paul supporter out there. I am so sorry. I made fun of you all, and now I feel like a fool! :< Ron Paul is my guy from here on out! Let the Revolution begin!

Ok. I get that you're a Ron Paul fan now. I didn't see the Leno show since I was too busy with the baby and watching LSU flog Ohio State in college football. I guess I'll ask the questions in the post. Could you add some specifics that made you change your views concerning this candidate? What is it that you understand now that you didn't before?

Well, you didn't ask me, but I'll bet you'll find that EuRa discovered that Ron Paul understands the Constitution while NONE of the other candidates don't.

I on the other hand have been following the candidate and his policies for years. Although I agree with him on some of his policies I think he is hopelessly naïve regarding foreign policy and national security concerns . That makes him unqualified in my book for the office of the Presidency .

You see, this was also one of my arguments. But a light went off in my head. I mean, here we are discussing 2-3 issues of Pauls that we dislike, instead of the dozens of issues that I agree with! There's not going to be a politician that I love 100%, but Paul is the closest it comes.

Pull our military out of foreign nations 100%. But don't get smaller. Bring them home and protect our borders. Use the money that was being spent on military bases over seas at home, which brings the US dollar back up. Smaller government, means less taxation. Give the people more individual freedoms, and keep the government out of our lives. Everything the government done has good intentions, but in reality the government keeps us from becoming stronger.

The greatest powers in the world before us all lost their powers when they spread themselves out too far, spending too much money in too many places, and fell apart. We are well on our way to that very scenario.

I researched Paul all last night. He's never voted for a tax increase! The department of education came along in 1950, and ever since it was created, the quality of education has gone DOWN, while the price has gone UP! He wants to get rid of it, and save tax payer money! He actually GIVES a large portion of his check back to the government every year! This man not only talks the talk, he walks the walk! There is no other candidate that I trust and believe more than Paul. EVER! Im hooked!

And I can't tell you how GOOD it feels to actually love this guy! I really do feel like life is better! I honestly shed a few tears reading about him last night. I am so sorry that I never researched him sooner.

Yeah, and if you ask, ill tell you, but I don't want to spread my beliefs onto others. Just find a candidate you like, and support that person! But do your research first. I hated being pushed around to like a specific one. That actually hurt me more than it helped me. If you want to learn more about Ron Paul, you should just look it up yourself. Anyone could blab on about him, especially a new supporter such as myself. :P

I found the Leno interview. THIS is what changed my mind. It's in 2 parts. I don't like hearing myself talk.

He has not adequately answered for the above comment . He has also not refused donations from White Supremist groups even though the donations are well documented

I fundamentally disagree with the retreat from the world positions he takes . The fortress America idea was quaint ;although the only founder who really advocated it was George Washington at a time when America was in no position to take a big role in world affairs. But the idea that the oceans could protect us was buried with the introdiction of the ICBM .

Tomder, I have no problem if you don't support Paul. Not one issue with you, because I used to feel the same way you did. So I'm not going to sit here and tell you if you are right or wrong.

Paul accepted the money because it was a donation. Who cares where it came from? Would you rather he give it back to the bad people so they can do harm with it? I'd rather Paul keep the money so he can try to do good with it. That's my view, you have a different one, and I respect that.

He's not racist, if that's what your implying. He was at a black rally in South Carolina, and they simply loved him too. And he's talking about young black males in gangs in the city streets. How many white gangs do you see in the city? It's really not that racist unless you want it to be. Plus it's a comment made 15 years ago. Just let it go man. Romney said stupid things just 5-6 years ago, but I don't hold that against him.

And lastly, no country has ever tried to attack us on the mainland. The closest was Pearl Harbor or 9/11. As long as we keep our noses in our own business, we won't be attacked. Look at Japan. Look at Canada. Look at Switzerland. France. Sweden. All free countries that don't interfere with other nations. They aren't being attacked, and many of them are much much closer to the extremists than we are. What's provoking them to attack us and hate us, is that we're over there, and have been for years and years, forcing them to use our form of democracy, or protect "our" oil, building bases on their holey land. If China did that to us, we'd be pissed off too!

I really don't see you changing positions, so I'm not going to push. I really do respect your point of view, and I see where you are coming from. We have 2 different views, and that's what makes this process so great! We can support other candidates, but at the same token, I'm sure we'd go out of our way to help each other out if we needed it. I know I would for you, and I have a gut feeling you would for me. :) I see you like Fred Thompson. I like that guy too! He started not to care too much for a while, but it looks like he's back at it again! He has some good points and I really like him much more than most. Good choice!

At least we're not supporting Rudy, right? :P

I think most folk vote for a candidate based on the issues that are most important to themselves, as individuals. And out of perhaps the top twenty current topics, I find about 3 or 4 issues, that I disagree with the candidate "Paul." Although I don't see myself currently voting for him, I would, however, give him an endorsement concerning general issues over ninety percent of the Democratic candidates. He does remind me somewhat of Perot, which at that time was my choice.

What are Ron Paul's chances of actually getting the nomination? I agree with everything he is saying. I am with EuRa I was all set on Obama but after watching video's and interviews with Ron Paul is my guy!!

He has litltle to no chance of getting the nomination but I woud not put it past him to wage an independent run or a 3rd party run on the Libertarian ticket.

You know, if more people would just vote with their conscious, rather than worrying if their vote would count, he would be doing so much better in the polls. So many people said they would vote for Ron Paul, but he just isn't popular enough... which doesn't make any sense to me because 1 vote isn't going to change the whole election. These final totals differ in the thousands. So it doesn't really matter if you put 1 vote here or there. Just vote with your head and/or your heart.

The only candidate I don't like... THE ONLY ONE... is Huckabee. I don't hate the man, I just don't want to see the Bible making decisions for our future. My Uncle was a minister, he could talk so well to a crowd. He was SO GOOD! He could easily win everyone over. Huckabee is no different. Unfortunately, people are supporting HIM instead of his ideas. He's a good man and means well, but his decision making is flawed because of his beliefs.

He just did explain on CNN with Wolf Blitzer. Those aren't his writings. Ron Paul has stated time and time again (before these letters came out) that Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, and Gandhi are his hero's, as they stood for libertarian views. The next big money bomb day is on MLK day.

Even Wolf Blitzer said in his interview with Ron Paul not even 10 minutes ago: "I've known you for years, and when I read this, my first thought was that this can't be you."

Ron Paul is the only candidate fighting the drug wars started by the judicial system. Blacks make up what... 15% of the US population, but make up 65% of the corrections department. Why? Mostly because of drug violations. Ron Paul is fighting (and has been fighting) to eliminate these laws. He also brings in more support from blacks than any other Republican candidate.

These letters have also surfaced before, yet Ron Paul still won his seat in Congress another 8 times. Why? Because they simply aren't true. However, because the media hates Ron Paul, they will just blindly post all this crap without asking him about it first. I thank CNN and especially Wolf Blitzer for asking Ron about what really happened.

Well the letters are true . The fact that he now disavows them and claims someone else wrote them does not exonerate him from the fact that they were penned under his name in his news letter. Seems like a very weak denial to me .It's not like it is a single incident ,but a continuing pattern that still goes on as evidenced by his support from racist groups .

I'm a Ron Paul supporter, and I think the letters are true. Indeed, if you scratch most right wingers you'll find a racist underneath.

That notwithstanding, I think he's the lesser of ALL the whacko's we're being offered.
