YOu may have 2 issues going on here. Is the unit firing up or does it just run? Do you have electronic ignitor or thermocouple? Could be the timer has gone bad as to why it doesn't shut off on timed drying

The gas does not come on at all. It just tumbles. Is there any way to test the timer? Thanks.

Do you have manuel or electronic timer? The problem with the gas not coming on could be the coils are bad at the gas valve

Unplug unit and manuelly move the timer and check the contacts. Are all opening and closing? YOu can use a finger nail file to clean them. Also if one set is stuck, many times you can force the open and clean and will work properly for a long time

I took off the timer and it may be electronic. It has a timer motor, does this mean it is electronic? Also I took the plastic access cover off the front and I don't see the coil glowing red. What could this be? Thanks Doug

If you have an electronic ignigtor try cleaning the flame sensor with 000 sand paper or steal wool. Also check the coils for continuity with unit unpluged. IF you have electronic timer, they are very hard to troubleshoot. You can look at the board for any burnt spots
