At the end of my wits
I am in a situation where I had adopted a child and now she has become uncontrollable. She has been with us for 9 yrs. And she has done every drug she can get her hands on and all the alcohol she can find as well. Do to our efforts to keep it all away. When she gets in trouble by one of her parents she cuts herself and claims she will kill herself. This has happened 3 times this year. She has been in 3 different mental health facilities and still there is no end to her uncontrollable behavior. HELP:(

What age is she? She may not be completely at fault, who we are is already in our genes. She may not be able to help what she is becoming. Do you know anything of her history, parents etc. Just thought that if you knew her background you may be able to counteract some of the destructive behaviour. Depending on her age I personally would step back, keep an eye on things, make sure that I am not the cause of her problems, and just be there for her. Hopefully with a bit of understanding she will grow out of it.

A bit more information would be helpful.

Well you have a child ( I wonder if she was a student and a artist if the word adopted would stll be used)

Once you adopt a child, the child is part of your family and yours, just as if the chlld had been born to you. There is no return policy or no promise the child will work out great, In some families, children do great, in others, they turn out to be drug adidicts, happens in good or bad families.

So you do your best, and keep doing it, till the child is raised and is sent out on their own.
