    Per Diem Guidelines
I am an independent contractor who worked for a single client all of 2007. The clients' office is located 62 miles from my home. I traveled to the clients' office everyday during 2007. Without receipts for meals and lodging, am I entitled to claim the equivalent of federal per diem rates for the days I traveled? If yes, what additional write-offs am I entitled to? (mileage, phone bills, tolls, etc)

If you drive to the same office every day, that is considered COMMUTING, which is NEVER deductible.

There are other deductions that you can use, such as business use of your cell phone, mileage for travel OTHER than commuting.

    Not daily meals, though.
