Chev Malibu fans not shutting off?
Driving home from work today, I noticed at one point that my temp. gauge on my 2005 Chev Malibu was all the way at the bottom. Thought I might have a problem with my gauge. But then I noticed later at a stop light that my engine was unusually loud. I parked and got out of the car and the engine was extremely loud, making me think the fans were going on overdrive. When I shut the engine off at home, I noticed the fans took a few moments to completely shut off.

    Any ideas?

NOTE: You will want to have this electrical concern properly diagnosed.

It's likely the problem is the cooling fan relay(s) has/have become stuck in the On position.
But the fault could also be a problem with the Coolant Temperature Sensor or its circuit. The Engine Control Module (ECM/ECU) controls fan operation based partially upon sensor input.

    Thanks.
As it turned out this morning it operated normally. I drove it to the dealership anyway, and they said there's no point in looking at it if it was operating fine.
