Hi, I have a Delta ball-type kitchen faucet and the hot water pressure has dropped dramatically but the cold water pressure hasn't changed and is fine. I've cleaned the aerator but that doesn't fix the problem. I've seen many posts suggesting the problem is in the valve cartridge but I'm not sure that applies to a ball-type faucet, since I looked at the drawings of the various parts in the ball-type faucet and I don't see a cartridge anywhere. As you can probably tell, I have no real plumbing knowledge! Funds are tight right now so a plumber is not an option at this time, if I could clear it myself, that would be great. It also appears I should flush out my hot water tank to clear the debris (something I didn't know I was supposed to do so it hasn't been done in 6 years since divorce!), but again not completely certain how to do that.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help walk me through the right steps to fix this problem and I apologize if I missed a posting that already describes what I need to do. Thanks in advance for your time! - Michelle

The problem seems to be something in the faucet --

With the water turned off mark and remove lines

Feeding faucet -- with a powerful vac under sink

Try to suck blockage out out faucet -- move faucet

Until both legs are cleared

Biggsie, I finally tried your suggestion and it worked like a charm! I have to admit I was hesitant to try because it sounded too simple and I figured I'd get myself into a mess. It was as simple as it sounded, there was a nice chunk of rusty stuff in the line and I was able to get it out. Thanks so much for your help! - Michelle

That was a real clever solution Biggsie. Hope the lady though to run some water through the lines since they were already disconnected just to blow out any addition junk.
