    Drinking father's rights
My granddaughters father moved out of town when she was three and comes down about twice a year to see her. Over the years he has become a heavy drinker and smokes. Now that she is ten he wants to bring her to his home in the summer and states that the courts will give him the rights. Can the courts force a mother to send her when she fears for her safety.

Can you document his drinking? As the father he usually can get the courts to give him visitation. The mother will have to prove he represents a danger to the child to prevent it.
