Well, you are right about helping out a family member who is faraway. But for my grandfather, there was no ill feelings, I loved him very much and we got along very well. He died suddenly. My dad died three months exactly after him. I was more concerned about his feet hurting and in the dream when I went to my mother to ask if we could help him, she said there was nothing, but she just sat there. My family right now is very sad because we just lost my brother in law as well. If you can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sure, Ill do my best. If your family member is faraway, and he/she needs help, you could write E-mails, send him/her letters and things asking 'how's it going?' You could help by just being concerned at what's happening, showing that you really want to help, but most of all, I think you should comfort your mother, because in the dream she just sat there, this could mean that she is very sad, and she needs someone to tell here 'I love you', 'dont be sad', and other comforting phrases. Try it, maybe you could spend some time with her.
And, if you are christian, you could perhaps pray a little, asking HIm to help you. When Im really sad or deppressed, I always tell God how I'm feeling, and them a comforting sensation comes into my body and I feel a lot better. Im sure this can help:)
