    Honeywell Thermostat Installation
    I didn't happen to look at the wires before disconnecting the old thermostat. I didn't think it was that difficult of task after doing mine.

    Ummm... then I looked at the wire colors! I've got R, W, G all coming from the furnace transformer. Green was not attached to anything, though. Bizarre. I just rem this because the wire had not been stripped.

    The other three wires are pink, pink, and orange. The two pinks both come from the AC (outside). The orange does as well; however, it goes into a humidifier before going to the thermostat.

    What do all these wires mean? The honeywell thermostat for conventional has R, RC, W, G, Y, C, S1, S2. The old thermostat has all sorts of terminals...

    Before you go any farther you need to be sure you don't have two transformers in the system, some older a/c condensers had a transformer as well. Look inside the outdoor unit for a transformer and let us know what you find. Good luck. Mike
