    SSN and Medicare Tax for L2 visa
    Hello ,

    I am currently on L2 visa status but working(with EAD) .

    Is SSN and Medicare Tax levied for the mentioned dependent status ?

    Please let me know .

    Yes, it is work visa and is normally known as dual intend visa.
    You will get the benefit only if you later on become the U.S. citizen. If not, you don't get any benefit.

    Agreed.

    You MAY get benefits if your home countr has a totalization agreement with the U.S. which has the effect of tranfering the benefit to your home country Social Security-equivalent program.

    Hello

    I am joining this topic because my wife who is with me on an L2 visa also gets SS and Medicare deduction on her paycheck. No problem paying if we get benefits

    Does France or Switzerland have a totalization agreement with the US?
