XPHome: How to turn a directory listing into a text file.
I've got a folder of 4000 files. I'd like to convert the directory of them into a text file to show someone.

    How I do that?

    Thanks!

Thanks, NeedKarma. That would definitely do it - but I'd like to avoid using additional software for it.

    Not a Windows feature?

Someone explained it to me some time ago - and I'm 99% certain that it was done within Windows - but for the life of me can't find it.

Yes. Now, I've just tried this method
    http://windowsxp.mvps.org/PrintDirectory.htm

But now, when I double-click on my My Music Folder, it opens up the Search Tool.

    Sheesh!

(Glad I saved a restore point before I did it! )

... ok, I see now. I have to right click on the folder, then I see the Print Directory Option.

... but of course that's not what I want. I want to Save the Directory Ling to a file (.txt would be fine)... so guess it's back to hunting and playing...

Winamp has a great builtin tool to generate a listing in an html page.
Load up all your songs in winamp then do ctrl-alt-G. From there I'm certain you know what to do.

    Now I'm Ticked.

I see, now, that restoring to a restore point does not restore the registry.

Now I'm stuck with this yuck: When I double click on a folder in My Documents, the Search Results window opens up. To actually open a folder, I've got to right click on it, and choose Open.

Is there any way to "undo" what I did from the instructions at
    http://windowsxp.mvps.org/PrintDirectory.htm?
