What great event in the history of redemption eventually led Christian believers to keep Sunday as the day of worshiping God instead of Saturday ( the Jewish Sabbath ) ?:

Of course I will disagree, Constantine did not have anything to do with the change, he may have made some official annoucement but the early church was already doing it long before that. Also please remember that many "facts" on web sites about Constantine and his connection to the Church are often incorrect, so if I don't know the author of the site, I normally doubt a lot of that info.

The fact is that the early church had to meet any time or place they could, since there were outlaws and could not publicly meet normally.
When they did finally meet the practice was of having a meal and fellowship, which latter changed. But as Pauls writings taught us, that we are not to honor one day above another, and in respect to Christ and the resurrection Sunday was the more common day of meeting.

We also understand that the sabboth was not that of a meeting or service, but a day of rest, even in the time of Christ it was a day when people were limited to how far they could walk, they could not cook, no work at all.
The people normally meet in the temples daily,

The site I provided does say that Contantine did not change the day, and explains what Paul wrote about not honoring one day above another.

It makes perfect sense as we should worship God daily!

There is just so much anti catholic hate web sites, I don't even read most, sorry. They try to use him as a show. Also while the Bishop of Rome was not as powerful as he would be, and he today, he was one of the few major leaders of the church at that time, the only thing was that his indivudual ruling did not have to be accepted by the entire church at that time, the Church in the east for example followed their own Bishop
So unless it was pronoused by the church council normally rulings were only accepted within the group of churches under that specific Bishop.
