Yes it is called blowing down the boiler and you better get a pro to show you at least one time in person. Scalding can create a very serious burn and you do not want to go there. There is also a device that will automatically blowdown the boiler I you feel like having one installed.
At the same time the service person is there make sure they check for a Hartford loop in the system since it is also a safety device and trip check all other devices and controls. When you call for service specifically demand a person with steam generation boiler experience. No one else will do. |
