    Child custody
I am currently engaged with a guy who has a daughter with another lady. My fiancé is currently paying child support for his two year old daughter, but it was a struggle of going from court to court in order to be able to see his daughter. His baby's mom fought till the end in order to keep his daughter away from him, in order to get revenge for things not working out between them. She is currently living with her new boyfriend in an environment which we find is not suitable for my fiance's child. She has another baby with her new boyfriend and does not pay enough attention to her other baby. My fiance's child is constantly being picked up with different bruises such as scratches, mild burns, and is also constantly taking medications due to her mother's carelessness. When this lady was expecting her child, she would say things such as "i wish i didn't have this child!" or "i should have aborted" . She continued to say those things for weeks until the child was born. Now that the child is two, the conditions she is living in are not suitable for her. This lady has no job and no education. Considering the fact that she is an immigrant, we find ourselves in fear that she might take off with the baby one of these days and not come back. My fiancé has considered fighting for custody but does not know what to expect. What do you think he should do? I would appreciate any advice.

If what you say is true, you stand a good chance of gaining custody. You need to document everything. Take pictures of any bruising, and ather abuses. Take the kid to a doctor, call in children's services.

Get a lawyer to help you build a case then take it to family court.
