    Bad Dye Job
Here it goes... I am naturally a med brown, wanted to go darker so I dyed it dark brown. That ended up BLACK. I used a color remover which left my hair orange, then I dyed over that with a Med warm brown ( Ion Brilliance) which left it a dark brown with lots and lots of red. It almost looks like a very dark red color. How can I get the red out? Can I add more golden tones somehow? I just want brown hair again!

First, how long did this all take? Cause it looks like you pretty much killed all the colour in your hair.

Darker shades such as dark brown will appear black on the hair, but the color will fade each time you shampoo your hair. Hair color removal product tends to make the hair a brassy orange color, and toning it down can be tricky. Try using an ash brown hair color to neutralize the red tones.

Do I use a Med ash brown or a light ash brown. If I would like it to lighten a few shades should I use ash blond?

If you want to go brown, you can use a medium ash brown hair color with a 20-volume peroxide developer in equal parts. Hair colors and developers are also sold separately at a beauty supply store.
