Spilt nail polish remover on varnished timber table!
I have spilt a large amount of nail polish remover (not nail polish) on a very expensive varnished timber table! The timber has been stained and varnished and is made of wood that is perfectly falt, not side by side pieces.

This is the second time it has happened. The first time was only minor, and I tried to wipe it off with a tissue, and the tissue stuck to the table and ended up taking off all of the varnish and even the staining, leaving the table with white patches!

I do not want this to happen again. Are there any suggestions of how to get the nailpolish remover and tissue off effectively and without leaving white patches?

I have wiped it off with a towel and it has left a dark milky like stain!
How can I clean the milky-like stain off the table without taking off the varnish and leaving white patches?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

I'm going to refer you to a link where I answered a question concerning a similar issue. https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/furnit...re-161272.html

However, I do find the information that you have provided in your question to be somewhat confusing since in the title to your question you mention varnish. Then in the body of your question, you mention the finish as being lacquer. There is a huge difference between lacquer and varnish and how to solve problems with either of them.

In your question, you also mention paint. Is there really paint also on the table?

Also, in the title of your question, you say nail polish remover. And, then in the body of your question, you mention both nail polish remover and also just nail polish.

Subsequently, I am confused here, and would appreciate some clarification. Is it nail polish or nail polish remover that has been spilled on the table? Is the finish on the table lacquer, varnish or some kind of polyurethane? There are also other types of finish that could be on the table. Please be specific as to what the finish is.

Also, by "timber table" do you mean one that is made of timbers put together side-by-side, or just a table that is made of wood and is perfectly flat?

Hopefully, maybe you and I will be on at the same time so that we can discuss the situation. I probably will be back on here at about 11:00 to 12:00 this evening. I live in Illinois. Thank you!
