    Moen Tub/Shower Issues
I bought a new house with more bathrooms than I can use. The warranty from the builder is up and I have found a problem with one of the bathtubs. It has a Moen fixture (believe it is a positemp with 1222 cartridge) The problem was I could only get cold water from it and when I turned the handle all the way the water would basically stop. I pulled the cartridge and looked for any blockage or missing o-rings. There was a little extra grease but nothing that would be a problem. I did notice hot water coming from the valve after cartridge was removed. I replace the cartridge same problem. I re-installed the cartridge upside down and hot water is back. Problems: Hot water comes on first and cold water at end of turn which is confusing. But bigger problem is now water drips on top of you (where is did not before) from the shower head even though the spout diverter is down. Any fixes?? Thanks

Did you put the cartridge back into the correct position, that should stop the drip but you still have the original isse then. With the cartridge removed place a bucket over the opening and have someone open your main for about 30 seconds. Fell both supply pipes, one should be very hot and the other cold. You said water came out of the mixer with the valved removed, do you have stops valves on each supply line or was it the main that was shut down?
