    Tongue numbness
The tip of my tongue has been numb for the last few days. I have noticed recently that my lips also feel numb. I do have a cold which is getting better. I am on blood pressure medication and prozac and have been for some time. I recently had a spider bite as well, but it is going away. This is sort of scary. What could it be?

What kind of spider bite and where?

Please understand I hate answering questions with questions, but I want to get the whole picture before I even begin to draw a conclusion.

It was on my stomach. The whelp was about as big as my palm. It had four small dark dots in the middle. Its almost gone now. I don't feel like they are related, but it was a bad bite.

I don't see in my text where either of these meds will cause numbness of the mouth/face. Benicar does have an adverse reaction of oral sores.

You may want to discuss this with your prescriber, it may be possible that the dosage of Benicar is too high.

I wish I could help you more. But without knowing your medical history and without being able to do a physical exam, that's the best I can do.

Please make an appointment to get this checked out further.
