    Dryer Plug to 110/120v Circuits
I'm doing video production in various old residential houses.
Most of these houses have 15amp circuits and not very many of them. I'm running a number of movies lights that will combine to more than 15 amps.

I'd like to build an adapter box from their 220/240v dryer plug to 2 - 20 amp 110/120v circuits to run my lights off.

I'd share the neutral and each circuit would have it's own hot leg. Are there any problems doing this?

Should I have 20amp circuit breakers in my box?
Are there different dryer plug types I'd run into?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

You need to shut the power off and open up the receptacle and see if it has the fourth ground wire. My house built in 1970 has a 4 wire cable running to an old 3 prong receptacle.
