Red unruley hair
My hair is red really red and I really like it but it is hard to manage because it is super curl on the bottom and barely curls on the top so I was wondering if there are any cute short hair cut or cute way to style it other than a pony tail. My hair color is close to Kate Walsh (Addison from grey anatomy)

Hi redheadbombshell,
If you were to cut your hair shorter, the top would probably get curly. Red is cool! Most people have to buy it in a box. I'd want to know how your face is shaped to say, cut it like this, or that. If your hair was short though, wearing it curly or straight would be easier. Straightening short hair is quick. Fluffing it up with curl gel is even more quick. Off the top of my head, never having seen you? Have it cut in a "shag," ideally by someone with naturally curly hair. People with straight hair don't reallize how stretchy curly hair is. They nearly always cut it too short.

Curly hair is more susceptible to frizz. To define the curls, try using a leave-in conditioner. This will help manage your curls and keep them supple. If the bottom of your hair is less curly than the rest of your hair, you can use serums or gels designed for curly hair. When applying the selected styling product on your hair, gently scrunch the bottom section with your fingers to enhance the curls. If possible, allow the hair to air dry naturally. But you can also use a blow-dryer with a "diffuser" set low or medium to prevent the curls from becoming frizzy.
I think short curly hairstyles are really cute. But you should choose a haircut that suits your face. You can get some long layers. Layered hair cuts can help keep curly hair in control, and make it look cute and sassy. If you're considering getting your hair cut at a salon, ask your stylist to give you a couple of curly hairstyle magazines or books to look at. Browse through them and select a hairstyle that's best for you.

If your hair is not as curly on the top and you cut it shorter it will still be curly at the base in the back of the head and the top will go flatter.
There are three options that you have:
1. Use a relaxer on the bottom in the back. Matrix OptiSmooth comes in two strengths, for virgin hair and coloured hair. I leave it in the hair for no longer than 18 minutes and make sure that the neutralizer is on for only 8 minutes. Its actually the neutralizer that damages the hair not the actual relaxer.
2. Perm the top to match the back. This works wonders especially if you use a rod that matches closest to your curl size.

If you layer u hair the top won't be as heavy and the curls will come back

There has to be enough curl to do so. If she is lacking in curl to begin with and her hair has always been less curly on top then her hair will not curl any more than capable. You are assuming that she has curl at the root of her hair. It doesn't sound like that it is the case.

I recently dyed my naturally dark brown hair a bright black colour, and I am not very pleased with it at all.
