    Noisey clothes dryer
When I first start the dryer it has a very loud roaring noise. It goes away somewhat as the
Temperature rises. Any ideas? This is a roar not a squeek.

Knhawkins - It sounds to me like the bushing on the front or back, or both are wore out. The belt pully tenessner some times will make this , roar but I don't think that's the problem, sometimes even the motor will roar ,when the bushings go out in it.;; Checking it out I would to the easest to get to first, ( #1- the motor, #2 Pully,#3 the tub it self.) the way I used to do this with a doctors stehascopeor a long screwdriveror a small long metal pencil rod NOTE( You really have to be carful doing this and not get lit up like a light ) I'll tellyou what since youer not exper. At doing this ,( DO IT BY FEEL ,WITH YOUR HAND ) BE down close to front at bottom of dryer, have some one turn it on,lay your hand motor to see if you have a lot of extra vibration, if not check the belt pully, if not feel up by the middle on out side to see if you feel vibration. NOTE even this way be very carful:::::::Good Luck ,STAY SAFE GOD BLESS :::F.B.E.

I have a GE clothes dryer, about 5 years old. It makes a loud high pitched chirping noise that usually quits after it's on for awhile. Can you tell me what could be wrong with it and if it's something I should be able to fix myself.
