I know someone who was in prison four about four years, for selling drugs,robbery, and manslaughter. Although I'm trying to help this person change there life by moving to Georgia. But I am not sure if he will be able to get a job with his background. I want to know what kind of jobs can he receive with a criminal record and what are his chances?
Currently the person is living in ny, but wants to move on with there life to make up for their mistakes. What can I do?

What kinds of jobs?? Well, he's not going to be hired as a rocket scientist. But there's a jillion jobs out there that don't require any licenses - good jobs too.

I don't know what you can do other than to encourage your friend.

Of course, he CAN get work. It's just going to be a little harder for him. Instead of going to 5 interviews before he gets a job, he'll have to go to 20. Ok... Then that's what he has to do.

When he interviews, instead of focusing on HIS problems, he should be focusing on the EMPLOYERS problems and how he can fix them. Certainly bosses are MORE interested in what HE can do for them, rather than what THEY can do for him.

Companies are NOT social institutions. If you treat them like one, you won't get work.
