I want to get my tattoo removed
When I was 21 I got a stupid little star tattoo on my back and I just don't want it anymore. I think it symbolizes my life then, and I've gone through a lot of personal growth in the past 6 years, I'm happier, and when I look at it, I am so far from the place I was at 21. I just want to get rid of it. Does anyone know how much laser tattoo removal is? It's not big, it's probably 3"x 3".

You could keep it and add something more interesting to it to make the star look like only a little part of it. Like a rose with the star inside it.

I think you have to go more than one time depending on how dark of ink it is.
I think it could cost around $100. To $400. Per visit.

There are suppose to be kits that will remove it some so that it is cheaper if you still have to go to get it professionally removed but I don't know anything about the quality or safety.

The only thing that will remove it is laser removal in a doctor's office (cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist). Remember though, laser removal is not 100%, which means you might be left with a faint outline. It all really depends on the colors, the depth of the tattoo and the ink that was used. Age will also play a factor.

Cost is going to vary - I had a tattoo removed and paid $400 per session. I responded very well, it only took four treatments and there is no sign of the tattoo left. My doctor commented that most people are NOT as fortunate as I was, so keep in mind there might be a trace left in the end.

Look up "tattoo removal" and your city in Google to get a list of doctors who offer the service and call to check out the prices. Most will give you a ballpark over the phone, but will probably want to see you to check the size, etc. When you see a doctor they will not be able to tell you how many sessions it will take; they will estimate, but you will pay per session, not one price up front. This is better for a few reasons - one, you might need fewer treatments than they estimate (I did), and two, you can spread the treatments and the cost out over a period. Treatments can occur only every four to six weeks, and you can always spread that out more if you need to get together the funds.

Good luck, and let me know if you have any other questions!
