    Emails.admissable in court?
    Are emails admissable evidence in court? Aren't they the equivalent of written documents, as long as you can prove it came from the user's email account? If they are, what can/needs to be done to present them in court officially?

    I believe they are but I am not sure what the process for proving them usable or not is... if they will really affect the outcome of the case I would suggest calling a lawyer and paying for a consultation about it.

    Hello Buddy:

    Sure they are. If you're in small claims court, just show them to the judge. If you're in a higher court, you'll need to have them "marked" as evidence by the court clerk.

    I have seen a few thrown out because apparently there is a program which allows emails to be totally forged or tampered with.
