Your little guy must be a cute little bugger with that combination of breed! Every dog does shed as you seem to know. The best you can find for that particular problem are what is referred to as low shedder breeds. Bichons are low shedding dogs. However, Llhasa Apsos are considered medium shedders. Looks like his Llhasa Apso side is taking over in that department. Dogs will "blow their coats" (full shedding) on average once or twice a year. I don't know if that is what is currently happening with your dog (it is quite possible that is what is ocurring), or he is just shedding his usual amount as he grows into adulthood. If his hair is on the long side, depending on what your feelings are about it, and of course the climate at the moment where you live, you might want to consider getting him groomed and clipping his hair shorter. It won't get rid of the shedding issue but it will keep his hair from becoming noticeable tumbleweeds around the house. I am sorry the breeder lied to you.

I agree with RubyPitbull. A couple more points. Regular brushing with a soft bristled brush will collect more hair on it. You might even try a wire slicker brush or the ones with the large conical rubber teeth.

A good diet can help too. That only needs to be any common brand of dry dog chow and little else. It doesn't take much else to throw such a small dog's diet out of balance.
