Why would you want a child a 17?
It can take some women years to conceive. Especially at your age, your cycles are not even 100% stable, so I can't give you advice on planning involving your cycle.
Fertility drugs are expensive and I'm guessing if you are 17 you don't have health coverage, so you probablt can't go that route.

I think you are putting the horse before the cart. Why not find a husband, make a home then worry about a baby.

Now I don't want to preach... but you had to expect to get this kind of feedback when you're on here saying your 17 and you and your boyfriend want a baby.
A baby is not all fun and games... a baby will change your life COMPLETELY! Being 17, you haven't even been able to experience being an adult yet, let alone trying to jump right into parenthood.
As far as your inability to become pregnant... maybe it's natures way of telling you you're not ready.

I'm not sure what your friend thinks she was taking, but without a Rx there is nothing to help you have children. Maybe your body is trying to tell you something... for the best life your baby could deserve, you should wait.
Do you even know a great deal about your body including how to prepare it for pregnancy? How to care for a baby physically, provide emotional/financial/physical support, etc?

Don't want to go on at you but you are so young I am not saying you are to young cause all people are different, but don't you feel you want to do a few things for yourself 1st like hoildays shopping partying etc. I have a baby and love her to bits but my partner and I only had 4mths together before I was pregnant. We would not change our little girl, but we do with we had some time before her. We are older than yourself to.
Best of luck for what ever you do but please just have a long think. Leti

Although I agree with the answers above, I'm going to take the medical approach here as that is what my exam is about tomorrow (teen pregnancies and complications).
Hun, you are a teen and teens are at an extremely high risk of several pregnancy induced complications:
* CPD (cephalopelvic disproportion): Baby's head is larger that your pelvic outlet, putting you at risk for a C-Section
* PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension) that can lead to preeclampsia or eclampsia (this is all high blood pressure related and eclampsia includes seizures) This can be life threatening to you and baby.
*GD (gestational diabetes) which puts you at a higher risk for CPD as well as glycemic complications for you and/or baby.
These are just 3 potential complications for the pregnant teenager and these risks diminish for every year after age 20.
Now, I am not sure why, at age 17, you want to have a baby with your boyfriend, but please consider all of the possible life threatening complications.

I had preeclampsia with my last child, and I'm here to tell you it is NOT fun. Enjoy your youth. You have plenty of time to have babies - later.

Well I'm not one to tell anyone what to do but I am a teen mom and got pregnant at 16 and not that I don't love my daughter who is now 2 but trust me waiting is the best advise I can give. You have to think about it, you and this guy what a child but this is the next 18 years of your life molding a person to be some one. You determin what this child will be. And children follow by example.. if you had a little girl would you want her pregnant that young??

I am 25 years old, married, and 37 weeks pregnant, and there are still times I feel that I am not ready for all that is to come. I totally agree with J9, you need to really think about all the possible complications of pregnancy. I have PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension) for which I have to take medications for, and I recently found out that my pelvis, at age 25, is not favorable to deliver what my doctor believes to be is a large baby, and they are considering a c-section. My point is, enjoy being 17, did you ever think that there is a reason that you are having trouble getting pregnant... sometimes things happen for a reason...

How do you get pregnant you ask? Have a lot of sex!
I had my first daughter at 17 and I thought I was ready... HAH what a shock! But then it all falls into place, yes your young but so was I and it worked out - although I am not with the child's father my children come first to the both of us. I have no regrets about having them young and you will know if your making the right choice - even at 17.
Best of luck!
