    Depo-provera. When is it effective?
    If the depo-provera birth conrol shot is giving after the menstral cycle ends instead of during, how long does it take to become effective?

    Either way, if given before, during or after a menstrual cycle, you should continue to us an alternate form of birth control for a month.
