Can I sue contact lens company?
I was driving home around 11pm and my car was freezing cold. I turned the ehat on full to warm my car and keep it warm for the 15 min drive back to my house, about half way home the heater of my car dryed my contacts out in a matter of seconds causing my attentiuon to be taken off the raod because I could not see, my eyes were watering and the lens's had shifted off my eyes when I blinked because the were so dry. I rear ended an SUV and nobody was hurt, but I was wondering if I could sue the contact lens company because if they wouldn't of dryed out the accident never would of happened and they display no warning of anything car related on the box or on the website of the brand. Do I have a case?

I heard of ALL kinds of things that people have sued for AND won.
A woman tripped over her shoelace and sued the tennis shoe company and won.
A girl threw a drink at her boyfriend in a fast food place. Then she slipped and fell and sued and won...

Not a chance. I won't even bother going into all the ways it would be thrown out of any court. Sure people have sued over some weird things, but there are warnings about keeping contacts well lubricated.

Let me think about this - no, you have no case.

Anyone can sue anyone for anything and I can't imagine an Attorney taking this case.

What did your auto insurance company say? They must have been fascinated!

I thought these cases were urban legend - not that there haven't been some strange settlements.

The slip and fall is complicated - a public place (in NYS) has an obligation to clean a dangerous situation within a reasonable period of being notified of the situation, no matter who causes it - and I don't know if that was the case here.

I investigated an accident in which a woman opened the top of a detergent bottle to check the scent, closed it (but not tightly), put it in her cart, wheeled away, another shopper noticed the trail of detergent and notified management, they did not respond in a timely manner, the woman who opened it in the first place fell in the meantime - and won damages, reduced because she was partially negligent.

Do you have any additional info on the two you mentioned?

They said there wasn't even time for them to clean up the floor. I have been wanting to look for a site that has all the crazy lawsuits that have won but haven't gotten around to it.
I heard legalzoom.com has some crazy stories on there.

Well, then it's Plaintiff vs Defendant and the Plaintiff was more believable.

    I'll check that site.
