    Cat has diarr
My cat has diarrhea. She has only had it a couple of days now. She is a very old cat. About 12 years old. The only problem is she is not using the cat liter box when she has this diarrhea problem. I wanted to know if there was something over the counter that I could buy for her to help make her stool hard and then what I could do to make her use the liter box. I am assuming she just does not have time to make it to the liter box. Thanks for your help.

Hi. I had a vet tell me to give my cat baby food; specifically chicken or turkey stage 1. To my surprise, it worked. She mentioned that it is easy to digest. Hope this helps. :)

I do not know of any safe otc remedies that can be used for a cat. I know that some otc's will kill cats.
Keep her confined to 1 room with 2 litter boxes.
Also 12 is not that old for a cat... mine is 13 and never has had that problem.
My advice is since she has had this for a few days is take her to the vet, she may become dehydrated.
