Want to lift haircolor 1-2 shades
This blog is so helpful. For me, it sounds like the color oops product is least risky. However, I am only looking to lift some of the color from my recent hair dyeing experience. Used light copper brown by Ion on already colored med. Reddish brown hair, but was told by the clerk to add this little purple tube to avoid any gold or too much red coming up as I do have a hard time covering gray's at temple's etc. Color is just a little too dark, and the bottom seems to be darker than the rest. Can you control the results using color oops, or should I use the shampoo/bleach/20 vol? Have already washed hair a couple of times with Prell in the usual fashion, but I find this dry's the hair out too much. Thanks for your suggestions.;) I am looking for the hair to be a little brighter with shine.

If your hair is color treated or porous and you apply a color that's a level lighter over your hair, it will absorb the color and make your hair even darker. Color oops is a hair color removal product designed to remove artificial hair color from the hair. Hair color removal products will make your hair orange or beige, and you will need to re-color your hair order for it look natural. In order to lift the color 1-2 shades lighter you would have to use some kind of hair lightening product. It can be done with a higher strength peroxide developer, but it might make your hair an unwanted color. Remember that hair color will gradually fade each time you shampoo your hair. You can try fading the color by using clarifying shampoos, dandruff shampoos, or dish detergent which will make your hair slightly lighter. But your best bet is to go to a salon and have the color corrected by a professional.
