Is there a lubrication for furnace gas valves
    Hi,

I have a Natural Gas furnace that I have had converted to Propane for use in my shop. I use it only occasionally and it works well but the valve passes.

Once the pilot is lit everything works well except that while in idle the gas valve passes to allow a small amount of Propane gas to pass in to the burner. This gas burns inside the burner instead of above when the valve opens.

I wonder if the valve is serviceable or if there is a safe lubricant that I could try to spray into the valve that would help to seal the gas passages.

I will try to take some pictures.

The valve is low voltage supplied by a Powerpile.

    Thanks,

    Gord

Here are two pictures to help. One is the valve and the other the burner. I have painted an arrow to the flame burning under/inside the burner.
