    Unfair rent prices
Wondering if anyone knows as a tenant what, if any rights I have in the following situation: My landlord has recently rented out at least 2 houses, the same floor plan houses for $750/months when I am paying $1,200/month, and has speifically told these new leasees not to inform any of his other tenants of what he is charging them. Another tenant heard of this and complained to him and he has lowered their rent to $800/month. I have already left a message and they seem to be ignoring me... so do I have any rights to my rent being lowered or because I have already signed a lease am I not legally eligible for a reduction in my rent?

Sounds like they got you with the lease you signed. If you're at all near time for renewal you might get them to lower your payment in hopes you'll stay, otherwise I think it's up to them... If it was worth it to you when you signed the lease, try to remember that when you think about other people getting a better deal... Think about it this way, if they were yours, you would feel justified in charging what ever price people would agree to even if the units were identical... and just because other people got a better deal doesn't change your original value of worth that you placed on the rental when you signed the lease... It happens all the time with cars... not everyone pays the same price for identical type cars.

There is always the possibility that the owners had to rent a certain number at your price before they could offer any lower rates on other units, etc...
