Honda manuals say replace the ICM if all tests are OK?
In the Chilton's manual for my 1997 Accord, and in the Hayne's manual for my 92 Accord, they both say that if the checks on the ICM (the igniter in the distributor) are OK, replace the ICM. Why do the tests to prove the unit is bad?? For all other tests I have seen, if the tests fail, you replace the unit.
    Can anyone help explain this?

Seems like no one can explain why the manual says what it does. Maybe it's just been lost in translation from the Japanese. Maybe Duane in Japan can tell us.
