Ford Galaxy Shakes badly at 40m.p.h
I have a 2003 Ford Galaxy Auto Diesel. The whole car shakes badly at around 40-55m.p.h. Only when I press the accelarator. When I take foot off the accelator or put in neutral the car is fine. Only by pressing the gas I get the car to shake. I have got all wheels balanced and tracking done. I have taken to a few garages they can't diagnose it. Any advise is welcome.

Sounds to me like you may have a bad ball joint somewhere or the possibility may exist where you lost a weight from your wheel that is used to balance. You may even have a broken belt in a steering tire that balanceing will only correct for a brief period. Have a mechanic check to make sure you have no bent or broke steering components and that all ball joints are OK. Hope this helps

Hi, Thanks for the advise. It all started after I took my Galaxy for servicing. I ended up with other work and cost me 320 Pounds. Amongst the things he changed were O/S/F Inner C/V Boot Split. Could any of these cause the vibration problem if not fitted correctly? I have take the car back to the garage but other than balancing the wheels nothing is done. I suppose have to take the car to the Ford dealers who charge for looking at the problem.

If the problem only occures when you try to accelerate, it seems more likely to be something in the fuel delivery. What did you have serviced? Are those who worked on you vehicle familiar with diesel engines?
