    Two weeks notice
I was wondering, I just gave my boss my two weeks notice today, that I am going to quit. Now, considering I behave myself, and don't do anything REAL bad, could I still be fired, for example, if I got a little lippy with my boss?

I have a feeling he is going to call me tomorrow, and I really want to just let him know I don't like him, but I also don't want to get fired for mouthing off at him.

    Just wondering.

Keep quiet and be a good employee for the remainder of your time there. There's no reason to burn your bridges. Remember, future employers may call this guy and if you misbehave in your last two weeks, you are unlikely to get a good reference. A future employer will not look favorably at you if your last boss says, "Oh, he was great until he gave his two weeks notice, then he became verbally abusive."

To your question directly - if you are an at will employee, yes, he can fire you for mouthing off.

First, yes, they can fire you for any reason, many companies merely fire employees that give notice, to get them out of the business.

But never do something stupid like telling a boss off, ifyou have a good work record, just work it out and leave. You may need that reference from them some day, of you may end up with that boss over you again 30 years from now you never know. My boss from 10 years ago, is now my boss again today.

You could be fired, yes. So zip your lips and keep your thoughts to yourself. Do not even talk about your boss to anyone else - you know how word gets around. You only have two weeks - be the model employee.
