    Changing back to windows XP from a free Vista
    Recent download for free Vista, it overrode the XP, now free trial is up, we want to return to XP?

    Ken, if it was only trial, check under Start > All Programs > Accessories for an uninstall option..

    BTW: do you prefer XP or will you upgrade to Vista?

    It is my nephews laptop and he LOVED VISTA, just doesn't want to pay the $100+ for the full version.

    I think he has tried to do the uninstall and had no results, I think he deleted the xp and now has NO operation system, besides the Vista,which is up...

    I feel bad for him, but kids will do the darndest things... lol

    I can't even get to the start menu, it only allows for the Vista product code, now that's frustrating.

    You should have a "Windows" hotkey on that, it looks like a sailing Window..
    Yes, no, maybe. Or how about the good ol' F1?
    Maybe take a look at Ending in the Task Manager

    The ONLY way you'll be able to do this is a complete rebuild.
    Time to back up your important data and throw in the restore CD.
