    Facts and information about Salah
    Hello,

Homework help please (I know I could have put this under homework, but since its R.E I thought it would be better to ask it here)

I have been asked to come up with facts about Salah (at least 15) and information about Salah, I have searched some websites and can't find that much so I was wondering if you you might be able to help me!
    I have found 5 or 6!

    Thanks,

    Jack

A muslims prayer is called Salah. Salah is from arabic. It means 'prayer'. Praying five times a day is every muslims obligation. There are different names and specific time for each of them. The names and respective times are :

Fazr ( right before sunrise )
Duhr ( right after true noon )
Asr ( after noon , when the sun starts to incline )
    Maghrib ( after sunset )
    Isha'a ( after dusk )

    This is the traditional timetable.
Please be noted that muslims believe in the only ture God and they don't worship the sun or anything else, the sun is only used as a time-keeping device. Modernday muslims consult their wrist watches more than the sun :)

A person has to clean her/himself properly before prayer and cover her/himself properly. Then stand on a clean ground to offer prayer. The ground should be covered with a clean cloth or carpet or anything of that sort if possible. The person has to face 'kaaba'. It is a cubical building located in a mosque called 'masjid-ul-haram' at Makkah. Wherever on earth a muslim is, he/she will face towards Kaaba for prayers. For example, people living west of Makkah ( iran, iraq, china, india, bangladesh, malaysia etc ) would face west while people living west of Makkah ( europe , egypt, sudan , morocco ) will face east. All muslims facing towards the Kaaba symbolizes the one-ness of God and the unity of muslims ( wherever we are from what ever race , culture , nation we bow to the same God ).

Anything else you want to know ? Feel free to ask.

No it isn't OK because it is one of the five pillars of Islam to pray your Namaz 5 times a day. If you don't then you are not following the pillar and therefore, you will get gunnah. It is an obligation for a Muslim to pray 5 times a day and 35 times a week. Hope you have got your answer.

You should learn to read salah when your 7 and when you get to the age of 10 and you still don't read salah, then you get gunnah

Salah means prayer, 5 times a day! They bow down and face mekkah, Some muslims have special alarm clocks that do the call to preyer because they believe it should be the first thing they hear each day! Hope This Helps.

No please don't pray like that,
    IT IS NO USE!
Why don't you pray the 5 prayers on time?
(if you intent to pray on time you will pray on time)

Always pray five times a day

Apart from the mandatory5 prayers there are also 5 optional prayers.

    1. Prayer, or Salah, is a supremely important activity in a Muslim’s daily life. Prayer is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, and is one of the fundamental beliefs and practices of all Muslims. Salah is a prayer that is performed every single day several times per day. Salah has a ritual, a procedure that must be followed. It also has a distinct preparation and must be performed at several defined times of the day.
    2. Friday congregational service is also required. Although salah can he performed alone, it is meritorious to perform it with another or with a group. It is permissible to pray at home, at work, or even outdoors; however it is recommended that Muslims perform salah in a mosque.
