    Give up parential rights
    My ex wants to sign over his rights. Can he do that with out me having someone to adopt him with me?

    First he can't do it, without you agreeing, next some states willl not allow it without someone going to adopt,

    And lastly even in those states that allow it, without an adoption all he gives up is the rights, he can't see the child, can't have any visits, and no say, but still has to pay child support, only when there is an adoption is child support stopped.

    Hello Question:

    Actually, free advice is worth what you pay for it. If you REALLY want true answers, HIRE a lawyer. Besides, I don't know any lawyers who dispense FREE advice.

    I am sure that "excon" has they money to pay for a lawyer. Free advise is what they know should help you in the respect of the situation. If the lawyer feels like you have a case they will be more then welcome to assist you with a legal cost. But free advise will lead you in the right direction. Look up a lawyer in the phone book and ask a few question related to your issue. I hope this will help you out

    I disagree - there is no "case" here for the Attorney to handle in the future.

    Your X cannot simply give up his rights. If you have questions, go to your local Family Court where they know the laws in your State.

    As long as it's been established that excon has money to burn - maybe he could send some to me? excon?
