    Child support laws
My husband has1 son 2 yrs.we have been paying her 180 week.he had job of 600 /week but changed to 400 per week.. we stayed 4 hrs far from her grandmother house.she stays in Georgia and we stay in tennesse.1 hr far.

We applied to court for modification of cs and judge said why don't u move to your home state and work there.so now wemove back here with child support changed to 145 per week.. we have to pay her 550 as alimony too.he makes only 1600 per month and has to give her almost 1150 per month.

After we moved here we have to stay without job for 3 months.we became helpless.we hardly get any food .we have mortgage to pay and we are so back in bills.he fulfilled his child support when he had money and when he was workingnow he is searching job and now she put the case for back child support and alimony money .and always she tries to scare him that she will put him in jail.now what should we do?? iys already 3 months now.

We are kicked out from everywhere and we are having fights because of this.he is scared to go to jail.. is the court put him in jail without asking for reasons?? and we deposited some money for her in the court now for last 2 weeks.when he did some work.. now we don't have money to hire lawyer and he doesnot want to go to court.. because he thinks if he cannot pay then he will be arrested.is this true??

Please please help me .I am scared that he will become alcoholic... please if anybody have any good advice please help us..

? Sorry judges don't tell you where to live, something don't sound right, they merely rule on the motions give to them. Sure this was not the other persons attorney doing something,

What was your attorney doing during all of this ?

But you move to where you can find a job, start making payments on back child support, hire an attorney and file to get it modified as it should have been.

You must have truly not had an attorney to get alimony since that is almost never awarded like that.

    Thanks for your quick response.
We had lawyer but I don't know he just said you guys just f... up.he has to sign the divorce papers because that time time she wasnot letting him see his son.and he was out of money too to fight with her.

Now we are in the situation that we cannot hire lawyer now and .we went to court house and the lady in the court house said you have to go to lawyer .they don't do it without lawyer.. so strange.we just paid 2 weeks back child support but he is scared that if we have to go to court then our support may increase or they sent him to jail.

She got that amount based on 180 per week .I also felt like something is wrong.because he was totally on her side.my lawer just did not have time for us.she got relieved because she wasnot working and told that she has to take care of her grandfather and mother.. actually she has her own mom and aunt too.our lawyer tried little bit.. can I speak in the last at least if the jury is totally in favour of her.like what if we are not able to pay?? how can we live.. he is paying her money which is even more to raise 4 children's..

.is that what Georgia laws says? if you cannot pay child support then go to jail and not even able to pay back again.. I think Georgia is mad because its in their state and we are from tennesse.. and they want us to suffer. Where we can find help?? isnot there any human rights?? or any help centers for father? why only for mothers??
