    Healthy and or Tasty Foods
    What meals or snacks are really good and or healthy.

    Some healthy snacks are Whole grain crackers, pretzels, crisp breads.
    Fruit, veggies served with dips
    Nuts like almonds or soy nuts mixed with raisins or dried fruit. Small quantities
    Low fat dairy, skim or low fat cheese and lite yogurt
    Air popped popcorn
    Peanut butter (2 tbsp)

    Foods that are healthy and low calorie
    Tuna in water
    Bean salad, beans, legumes, lentils
    Lean cuts of meat, poultry, fish, turkey, loin type meats, 3 oz. servings
    Just to name a few...

    Home cooked and D0 N0T use the microwave
    Microwave ovens destroy the nutritional value of your food

    Also many foods and snacks that are labeled health food are not healthy
    Read the back of the label
    Many granola/snack bars have over a dozen types of sugar and preservatives

    Some of the VERY healthiest foods are
    Pomergranates
    Berries
    Grapes
    Tomatoes
    Sweet potatoes
    Broccoli
    Spinach
    Oatmeal
    Flax


    Some of my favorite:
    Tater skins with cheese, bacon, scallions and sour cream.
    Chicken crêpes you make the crêpe batter and fill it with shredded chicken mixed with a can of cream soup (mushroom, celery or chicken) then sprinkle shredded cheese on the top and heat in the oven until the cheese is melted.
    Home made potato chips slice potatoes with a potato peeler to look like regular potato chips fry like you would french fries and sprinkle with a topping like garlic powder or Parmesan cheese.
    When you have left over chicken make a chicken, bacon and melted cheddar cheese sandwich on toasted bread with mayo.
