    System Restore
 I wanted to restore my computer to a couple of weeks ago and it didn't work. The computer did the process of restarting my computer and it said restoring to an earlier point but when it came up(the screen after restarting) a message appeared saying it could not restore my computer to this restore point. I tried on a variety of restore points but it still didn't work.

Sounds sad but all too common. Reinstall the operating system is probably the best bet.

Why do you want to restore? What problems are you having? Lets try and treat the disease, not fix the cure.

System restore is great in theory but rarely works to the best of the end user. If your using it to get rid of virus/spyware problems then it really is a bad idea to use it. How do you know when you picked up the problem, you might just be restoring to an earlier point in the same problem. I disable it on every PC I work on to prevent users from making this mistake. If you have a virus/spyware that can't be removed without causing severe OS instability problems then the best bet is a clean install.

My Restore folder is taking up a ton of space (almost 13 GB of my 20 GB drive) and I'd really like to get rid of it. Is it safe to delete this folder? Edit: I'm on Windows Me and I've already tried turning system restore off.
